About this blog
This trip was my attempt at unwinding with my (then) girlfriend after spending a year long deployment in Iraq in an austere environment. We had originally planned to spend 10 days there but later extended our stay and cancelled the other destinations in our itinerary because we were having so much fun in Bali. Aside from the fact that we got engaged there, it was nothing less than a magical two week experience. The threat level was very low and I never once felt as if we were in any sort of danger. Not many Americans to be found in Bali which was refreshing.
