Part 1 of the camino de Santiago from Krems (Austria) to Santiago de Compostella (Spain)
About this blog
The Way of St James, or St James' Way, often known by its Spanish name the Camino de Santiago, is the pilgrimage to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in north-westernmost Spain where the apostle Saint James the Great is said to be laid to rest. It has been one of the most important Christian pilgrimages since medieval times and it has existed for over 1000 years.
There is not a single route - the Way can be one of any number of pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. There are only 2 waypoints on this trip: it always starts at your home and ends in Santiago di Compostella.
The Camino is not only a pilgrimage of faith but also get y away from daily routine, find yourself, load up the batteries, catch an adventure.
