Sandals Royal Caribbean Reunion Week 2010 in Mo Bay, Jamaica

I joined a group of fellow Sandals Royal Caribbean lovers called the Crown Royals and will finally meet them in person at Reunion Week. We've all come together via internet, building online friendships by sharing our joys and sorrows.

Each Sandals resort hosts a reunion week annually. Most guests on property that week are returnees, meeting up with old friends and savoring the "Irie" vibe of the Jamaican resorts, the beauties of those in St. Lucia, and the adventures of those in the Bahamas and Antigua. During reunion week (hereafter: RW), Sandals plans a schedule of events. At Sandals Royal Caribbean (hereafter SRC), an off-property excursion is one of the perks of RW. This year, it's rafting on the Martha Brae. Other highlights have (or will) include such things as an annual Grande Renewing of Vows for married couples, All White (clothing) Fantasy Night on SRC's private cay, chefs' cook-off competition featuring exquisit cuisine, catamaran sailings, champagne breakfast, and others.

To add to the fun, the Crown Royals are headed up by a dynamite travel agent who is known and beloved by the SRC management and staff; thus, we have several of our own "happenings" throughout the week, starting with an off-property jerk lunch at Scottie's the first day. Because our mascot is a peacock, we will have a "Flock In" at the private cay with a specially-prepared-for-us-only luncheon at the Royal Thai Restaurant. "Pea Soup" is an annual affair that is a hot tub party. Last year, the group was invited to the general manager's home for this event. A highlight of Monday's Pub Peacocktail Party is exchanging gifts; each group member/couple searches year-long to find that perfect item--easy to carry in multiples and themed around the group, our mascot, Jamaica, the beach.

Whoa, this is just a description. Now you see why the one word my friends would identify me is "TALKER!'
