Travelled from Calgary to Zermatt Switzerland on our yearly ski trip to Europe. A great place to visit (a bit long getting there- 29 hours, but well worth it). Zermatt has such a wonderful setting in the valley below the Matterhorn- many restaurants, sights, skiing, swimming and terrain for all levels of skiers- in Switzerland and Italy. Snow was good and Gluvine also!Had a great Xmas dinner at Spycers. The train both ways is grat and relaxing. The Mont Blanc Express is very breathtaking. Chamonix is a larger town with many amenities. Skiing is great if you get way from the lines. Poor/limited food/service on hills compared to Zermatt. Great New Yer celebrations in center. Bus back to Geneva cheap/easy and stay in Movenpick great.
