After saying good bye to everything and everyone that I love in Detroit and a 13 hour layover spent running around Frankfurt, Germany trying to locate an authentic pretzel I will be headed to Amman, Jordan for 9 months. During those 9 months I will be interning with an area non-profit that works to foster peace by organizing communities around issues of environmental justice and shared natural resources, specifically the Jordan River - the largest source of fresh surface water in the Middle East. After my internship is complete I will return to Detroit to finish my Masters of Community Development at the University of Detroit Mercy and hopefully apply much of what I learned while in Amman to situations at home.
