About this blog

John Stephens had always wanted to do the ultimate trip: The Alaska Highway which would include visiting the furthest west town in Canada. This became known to a fellow called Bob Benesko who said he was interested in doing the same trip. From this point on John and Bob earnestly set about planning for this most amazing endeavour. Over the cold winter months they agreed on a route and when would be the best time to go. Bob rode a 1996 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic and John was on a 1993 Honda GL1500 GoldWing pulling a Denray utility trailer. With a lot of support and understanding from both our families, and reasonable bosses we were able to take off the month of August, 1998 for this adventure. And here is the day by day description
