I was to be fifty in May and decided that instead of having a party that I would spend it doing the number one wildlife encounter -Gorillas! I looked at the three options open to us - Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. I chose Uganda as it seemed to have much more to offer than just Gorillas - Murchison Falls where the Nile squeezes through a gap in the rocks only 23 feet wide, an opportunity to spot the 'Big 5' on safari, trekking chimpanzee and the number one birding destination in Africa. It turned out to be a marvellous choice and a holiday to remember.
