Inside the Life of a Cruise Ship Worker [2013]

About this blog

The summer of 2013 is where it all began. I scored a job with Princess Cruises as a Seasonal Youth Counselor aboard the Star Princess and the Golden Princess for a total of 4 weeks, and quickly desired to continue living the seasonal ship life.

These first two contracts were Alaska runs. It was my first time in Alaska (excluding the layovers in Anchorage on my way to and from the Philippines years ago). It was also my first time on a cruise ship! Heck of an introduction trying to find my way around the ship AND learn a new job!

I'll be posting about all of my 2013 contracts and ports within this one blog for now. I know this may be a bit confusing or disorganized, so I'll try to use entry titles as a way for you all to easily navigate and distinguish beginnings and endings of contracts. Beginnings of contracts will simply be titled "HELLO *ship* *ship's run*" and endings of contracts will be "GOODBYE *ship* *ship's run*".

A * by a name means I have changed the name of the person I am talking about.
