We'll be backpacking the highlights of Guatemala for about three weeks on a shoe-string budget. No flights, no luxury buses, and no three meals per day nonsense.

Our mission: see a stupid Toucan! They were really good at being heard but never seen in the Amazon. I just wanna see the dumb bird. Hopefully it happens. Of course, Tikal, Lago de Atitlan, and Pacaya will be excellent consolation prizes if it doesn't!

My leather travel journal has gotten exceedingly heavy over the years, so I decided to keep track of where we've been and what we've done on TravelPod.

Now my pack weighs three pounds less and I won't have to send emails to parents explaining that I'm not in a third-world prison.
