I had been chased out of S.E. Asia by the coming monsoons and high humidity, so now I was about to embark on a new segment: Northwest China, the Stan countries, and then the Southwest China, onto Tibet. Well, we'll see! I was meeting Tina, my Chinese friend in Chengdu, and we were planning to trek from Chengdu to Urumqi, the S.W. border town of China. Then I am to meet Natasa, my Slav friend in Khagastan and tour the Stans. After 3 weeks, she is to return to work, and I will continue travels back into China, and hopefully, south into TIbet. We'll see.
