Japansnew2me's Great Adventure
About this blog
Kon nichi wa!
Welcome to my Japanese ramblings!
Well, in the past few years of my life I have always been a bit of a wayward soul or a "boomerang" as some of my friends have coined it. I seem to have naturally developed this equation in my life where I will not stay in one spot for too long but will eventually go home at some point, hence the nickname "boomerang". This unquenchable tendency has led me to my latest ramblings here in Ashoro, a quaint little town of 7 500 people in the Northern Hakkaido county of Japan.
I have always had this little voice in the back of my head saying, "You know Ian, your only getting older and that proverbial window of opportunity abroad is slowly closing!!! You have always wanted to live and work out of the country for an extended period of time! At least do it before your bald!". It is funny how the world throws little gems your way and at times seems to know exactly what you need. This gem came in the form of a position opening as the Coordinator of International relations between the City of Wetaskiwin and its sister city in Japan, Ashoro.
SO HERE WE GO!!.... Thanks for joining me for the rambling tails, mishaps, awkward and memorable interactions that I am bound to experience..........................
