From Lake Geneva- through the Swiss Alps - to Italy...
About this blog
usually we prefer not to travel in the middle of summer when the weather could be too hot and humid (at least in certain parts of the world), when schoolchildren and students are on the loose, when the locals are in hiding because hords of tourists swarm their cities, streets and "points of interests"... but this time we have a personal reason to be in Rome on a specific date - the 4th of august...and we decided to take a little detour to Rome - via Switzerland and northern Italy... the plan is to start in Geneva and explore the region around Lake Léman (aka Lake Geneva)...take a few scenic train rides through the country (including the Golden Pass route to Interlaken and picturesque Bernina Express through the Alps to Italy)... then we plan to spend some time in the lakes region of northern Italy (lake Como, Lugano, Maggiore) and Milan, and after that - move on to Rome... ..........................so - that's the plan so far...stay tuned! :)
