Tungareshwar Sanctuary - Monsoon walk

The Tungareshwar reserve forest area is within 2 hrs driving distance from Mumbai. It is in Thane district, beginning roughly just after the Vasai creek, and running more or less parallel to the NH-8. This scenic hilly region receives plenty of rainfall in the monsoons, also forming a part of the Tansa river basin, hence the groundwater levels are always high.
Wildflower and butterfly paradise just after the rains.
