A Day Out in Chennai

This is about one day at leisure in our recent work trip to Chennai. Chennai or Madras as it was formerly known, is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu, a major city on the east coast of India, on the Bay of Bengal. It is a laid back city, well known for its ancient Dravidian culture and traditions, as much as for its fine Marina beach, and industry.

Chennai hosts major Carnatic music and dance festivals in the months of December and January, when world reknowned artistes perform.

There is much to do and to see in and around Chennai, which is an ideal gateway for the visitor to the south.
