Rwanda, "revisited" after 13 years!!! And a jump into Uganda...

Still 2 days left before we are taking off. After 13 years we are returning to Rwanda! We lived there from july 1991 untill april 1994, when we had to rush off as the Rwandan genocide, in which an estimated 800000 ethnic Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed, exploded. The genocide was sparked by the death of the Rwandan president Juvenal Habyarimana, a Hutu, when his plane was shot down above Kigali airport on 6 April 1994.

Thomas, our oldest son, who was 11 years old when we left Rwanda in 1994, is now staying in Kigali for 2 months (from 1/07/07 untill 01/09/07). He is a medical student and is doing a training period at Muhima hospital and at the CHK, centre hospitalier de Kigali. We are going to visit him and to "revisit" Rwanda!
