Travel is more than cathedrals, monuments & natural/cultural wonders. It can evolve into an inner journey - an experience linking the self and the exotic other; where the traveler imbibes (a word that I find especially appealing and appropriate) the other. George Santayana defines travel as: "An escape into open solitude, an escape into aimlessness, & an escape into taking a moral holiday to run a pure hazard. Why? To sharpen edge of life, taste hardship & make a desparate commitment to achieve the moment." I hope that the pictures & narratives, contained in these 6 entries, will provide insight into Santayana's Travel. And perhaps, provoke some level of discussion about the nature of travel.
