My gap Year - Tanzania
About this blog
I heard about gap year travel through a close friend who traveled to Australia in 2007 with a non - profit charity 'Lattitude Global Volunteering'; after hearing about her adventures I decided it was defiantly something I wanted to do. So here I am currently in my second year of A - levels, applying to read history and politics at the university of Hull, and planning my own gap year.
I applied to the charity in June 2008 and went for an interview at the university of Leeds on the 17th august. I got accepted and my close friend Amy was also successful. I will be traveling to Tanzania, East Africa on the 24th January 2011. Whist there I will be teaching underprivileged children and helping out in the community. The cost of this is £1885, and I also need to raise funds for flights, insurance, visa and any onward travel!
I am writing this blog to keep all my close friends and family informed of how fund raising is going, and keep in touch whilst I'm away; I will hopefully be able to keep everyone updated with photos and videos etc, but I'm not totally sure how good the internet will be out there!!
