An arctic expedition to the world's northernmost settlement at Ny-Alesund.
About this blog
Welcome to Svalbard! The land of the midnight sun, polar bears and plenty of glaciers. This summer skiing trip will involve a complete crossing of Oscar II Land between the northern side of Isfiorden to Ny- Alesund. The distance covers some 200km, with a detour to the dramatic west coast of Svalbard, where we aim to complete some first ascents. Travelling solely by skis and pulling sledges, this expedition will be completely self-reliant for the duration. Training for a Greenland crossing in 2007.
