Although we had reserved a room at a typical Playa Mega Hotel, once we arrived, found many charming locally run places off the beach. BUT... it's extremely hot as soon as you move even a few blocks away from the ocean breeze, and few hotels or shops are air conditioned. Also, don't leave anything in your room of value: luckily I only lost perfume and pantyhose!
