Loco-motion in South America - a cycle touring adventure
About this blog
We flew into Bogota, Colombia in October 2012. Over 5 months we cycled through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Uruguay. Eventually flying out of Buenos Aires. It was all on bicycles, except for the occasional, unavoidable ferry crossing.
Kory is from Canada and I am from the UK (I am the one who is doing all of the writing but Kory is the one to contact if you have technical questions about the bikes). We met in Cambodia in 2009 and this is our second cycle tour. The first bike trip was in Australia, India and Sri Lanka. This time we concentrated only on South America.
This blog was written so family and friends could keep up to date with our adventure, but also for fellow cycle tourists. We have read a lot of other people's cycle blogs over the years and hope some of the information that we have written may be of use to other cyclists. Lastly this blog is for all the backpackers who have ever met us and thought "maybe one day I might do something like that", we hope that this blog will inspire you to try something different and will show you that if we can do it then anyone can do it!!!
