My trip to the 35th annual music festival held in the hill country of Texas midway between Austin and San Antonio. From I-10 exit 0 to I-10 exit 505: it's a gorgeous drive.

About this blog

Welcome to my trip to one of the major music festivals in the world. This year's event is the 35th year and I was there for the second year's event. I was a young folk singer living in Austin, Texas and appearing at the Chequered Flag Folk Music Club in Austin, Texas with my new guitar, my newly learned songs off of Joan Baez and Judi Collins' records (yes, actual vinyl). The folk music scene was fading and the club had changed hands. But the original owner, Rod Kennedy, decided to continue with the folk music scene by creating a music festival on ranch land owned by his family. There are many of us who continue to attend the festival every year. We mount our bumper sticker proudly. Read on to see why you must be there to "get it".
