About this blog

My first European trip. An adventure I have been planning for years, and finally just decided to book it. I went through Cosmos, a bus tour that starts at London, England and spends 22 days traveling throughout Europe, ending in Paris, France. the tour is set to run from August 8-29, 2010. For now, I am just getting started on this blog. However, when I have access to WiFi on my trip, I will update my progress and add pictures. This will give me a chance to keep in touch with my friends and family that may be interested. I plan to write about my adventures which will include the good and bad alike. I can hardly wait for it all to begin.

Here is the detailed description of the itiniary as set by Cosmos:

See much more than the main treasures on this magnificent vacation focusing on Central and Eastern Europe. Start in London, then cross the Channel by ferry and board your motorcoach toward Amsterdam for guided sightseeing, a canal cruise, and two overnights. Head east into Germany to Hannover, capital of Lower Saxony, for a walk in the Old Town. Reach Berlin and discover this magnificently restored city on the included sightseeing tour, then head to the mountains and fortresses of the Erzgebirge range. Enter the Czech Republic and Bohemia to arrive in Prague for two nights and guided sightseeing. Next stop: Vienna for an included city sightseeing tour that shows off the State Opera, Parliament, and Town Hall. South through the beautiful Styrian countryside to Klagenfurt. Skirt Lake Wörth and Villach and travel through the Karawanken Tunnel to Slovenia. Stop in picturesque Lake Bled with an overnight in Ljubljana. Follow the Adriatic shores past the port of Trieste, then cross into Italy to Venice. Enjoy a canal boat ride to St. Mark's and marvel at this amazing "floating" city. Stop in Assisi to visit St. Francis' Basilica, then on to the "Eternal City" of Rome with sightseeing that highlights the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. In Renaissance Florence, a Local Guide shows you Piazza Santa Croce, Palazzo Vecchio, and the Duomo. Admire the Leaning Tower in Pisa and drive along the Italian and French Rivieras. On the way to Lyon, stop in Arles and Avignon, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. North through Burgundy to ancient Beaune before reaching Paris, where guided city sightseeing acquaints you with the main sights.
