A Gap Year
About this blog
Hi! My name is Evelyn. You probably know me if you're reading this blog. In which case, you probably also know that I graduated from high school a year early and decided that I wanted to travel the world before I go to college. I'm very excited because in July, I was offered an internship in Chogoria, Kenya, near Meru, to come and help write a constitution for the county after the ratification of the new national constitution in Kenya in early August 2010. I'll be there till February, at which time I depart for Ecuador. I volunteered for a rain forest conservation project through a group out of the U.K. I'll spend a few weeks in Quito, brushing up on my Espaņol, then a month in the rainforest. I'll be travelling around the country for a bit after that and then hiking Quilotoa. So far my plans also include visiting family in the Netherlands and Ireland, meeting friends in Nairobi, stopping to see the very touristy sites of Cairo, and finally getting to experience the Big Apple. Thanks for wasting a few minutes of your day to read about my gap year adventures!
