About this blog

This is the story of a family of four on a backpackers' adventure through Java, Bali and Lombok. Anja, Erik and their children Diewertje (11) and Sietse (6) are on this trip from late June to late July 2012. Erik is writing the blog. The journey brings us through Java, the Prabmanan Hindu temples in Yogjakarta and the serene atmosphere of the Borobodur Mandala, and authentic hospitality in Banyuwangi, to Bali where we retreat in the unspoiled towns of Munduk and Sidemen to explore the highlights of the North and South of Bali. We end in Lombok, where we enjoy the pristine tropical beaches of Kuta Lombok and swim in turqouise blue waters of the Indian Ocean.
