Alabama is Home Base. I was born here, Been here 76 years and I plan to die here. Alabama has been the Start and Finish of my many travel adventures in North America, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean.

About this blog

The grandest journey anyone can take is the one which starts and ends with a one-way ticket. It begins at birth and ends a lifetime later. The purpose of this travelogue is to acquaint you with my home base, Alabama.

I was born here, in Guntersville, on the Tennessee River, and have lived in all sections of the state, including Gadsden, Birmingham, Gate City, Decatur, Andalusia, Atmore, Foley, Robertsdale, Marlow, Huntsville, and Fairhope.

In this section I will search through my old travel related photos and try to give you my views on my state. Maybe I can entice you to come for a visit and see the South I love. The first section will deal with the Guntersville area and be followed with the other areas in chronological order.
