First impressions of Vientiane are that it is quiet and mellow capital city, where people obey traffic laws, and don't seem to rush anywhere. And this is the cold season, so I wonder how things will slow down when the heat hits?!

Whilst Nick is busy being a regional honcho for the panda club, I haven't yet decided how I am going to (professionally) reinvent myself in this town. Besides, it's Christmas. Though that is not totally significant in this Buddhist and Communist country, it does mean that most of the important people are away on a jolly.

We will be here - learning to rock climb in Vang Vieng!
