TransAmerica Motorcycle Odyssey
About this blog
This blog provides a daily narrative of a seventeen day cross-country motorcycle trip undertaken by three friends from Connecticut. With a year of planning completed, this trip represented for us a true 'once-in-a-lifetime' opportunity to see this great country from atop a motorcycle. The perspective while crossing the country on two wheels, we are convinced, is a lot different than making the journey in a car or an RV. There were some challenges along the way, however, there were many rewards as well.
The trip begins from a shoreline community in Connecticut, with the first leg bringing us down south into the Tennessee area. We then generally followed I-40 west to California, however, when our schedule permitted, we exited from I-40, and chose to 'head west' as so many people have done in the past, along the historic Route 66. Our journey, and our route, provided unlimited opportunities to take in new sites, learn more about our country, and just as important, meet some great people. Our memories of this trip will never fade.
The blog was developed to keep family, friends and co-workers apprised of our progress, and also to provide some insight for those who are contemplating such a journey. We hope the information is informative and helpful.
