Hamjambo!

As many of you know, I will be traveling to Tanzania, Africa this April to volunteer in the tiny town of Moshi, at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro.

This trip is almost three years in the making but only recently became a reality when I signed up to volunteer with Cross Cultural Solutions (www.crossculturalsolutions.org). With this organization, I will be assisting with HIV/AIDs awareness and education.

The rates of HIV/AIDs in Africa are staggering. Insufficient education and cultural issues are the root factors for such widespread prevalence of this disease.

Although I will be able to provide hands-on assistance in Moshi myself, educating those at home is the other half of the battle.
