Laurie and I explore the Yucatan peninsula.
We hope to check out some Mayan ruins such as the great city of Palenque and Calakmul.
Visit some Haciendas from the golden era of "oro verde" when the Yucatan had more millionaires per square mile than any other place on earth.
Then we will spend a week in Merida, The Yucatan's beautiful capital city. During the day we will head out and explore the nearby countryside with it's wildlife, awesome cenotes, villages and markets and at night enjoy the myriad cultural offerings of the city.
After Merida we intend to head to Playa del Carmen and meet up with Karen and Garry. Now we can just relax on the beach enjoying the sun and sand.
