My self-sustained ashram in the silver forests of central India
About this blog
I came to India overland from London on board of a 1977 VW van called Pluto back in 99. Since then my love for India and its culture has turned into a spiritual transformation which led to my sadhu initiation at the 2007 Ardh Kumbh Mela in Allahabad. My search for inner peace made me give up material pleasures and took me to the forests of Madhya Pradesh to live a simple life. Now my small wooden hut on the banks of the Narmada river is growing. I have built a temple and 2 rooms for the future plans of being able to home those in need (e.g. orphans). We are five people: a 90 year old Indian widow, an old sadhu, 2 young sadhus and myself, plus 4 cows, 3 dogs, a chicken named murgan and the occasional pilgrim. An ashram is blooming from my simple hut and it is heavenly. The river extends itself like a sea. The sun rises on the horizon over the mirroring waters (as you can see from the picture) and trees and flowers house an amazing variety of birds and insects. We grow our own vegetables and make our own butter from the cow's milk. Welcome to come and visit!! To make a donation click on SupportMyTravels.
