Michigan Looks Like a Mitten
About this blog
The trip to Michigan was planned a few years ago but things came up and it had to be postponed. Now, we're almost ready to leave and that's a good thing because it's getting a little too warm in South Texas for my comfort. Besides, if we don't get Wendell off the property, he's going to end up tackling projects that wouldn't be good for him. We need a long, relaxing trip and sure hope this is it.
Since we no longer have the older children living on the homestead, we have hired a housesitter for the dog and pool. Nitchie will be a bit upset that she is being left behind but she truly doesn't enjoy traveling that much. After a few stops, we almost have to drag her back into the truck. I'm sure she'll thrive under the tender loving care of Kaylee.
The first few stops will be to visit family in Texas before turning a more northerly direction. We'll approach Michigan from the east, drive all the way to the north, then travel down the west coast of the state. On the return, we'll have a brief reunion at Wright-Patterson AFB and also visit a few friends in Indiana and Missouri. If all goes according to plan, we'll return home mid-to-end of September. Of course, Proverbs 16:9 tells us, "Man's heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps.", so we'll see what He has in store for us.
Join us if you can. We enjoy having you tag along.
