The Great American Road Trip

Every since I was a little kid it has also been of a dream of mine to visit the Grand Canyon! Well after a successful camping trip with my girlfriend (Belkis) it looks like we are going to make this happen for next year. As of now we plan on driving out there and seeing the cities and sites that make our country beautiful!
I have always loved to travel and have explored a bunch of cool places but the country I'm from and live in, I have no idea about and it is foreign to me. So hey! Why not let's go out and explore this place.
The idea is to take about 2 weeks off of work sometime around May 2012 and start our great adventure by making stops and some cool cities along the way with the finally destination being the South Rim of the Grand Canyon! On the way home there are a bunch of great National Parks that are close to choose from while we're out there.
Some of the spots that we have in mind right now besides the Canyon are: Glen Canyon, Canyonlands National Park, Arches National Park, Grand Tetons National Park, Sand Dunes National Park and hopefully maybe even a stop into Yellowstone if time allows it. I'm sure both of us would love to stop back in the Pisgah National Forest (Brevard, NC) on the way home to do some camping and hiking again and see things we didn't on our last trip.
Well that is the jist of the trip for now. I will continue to update as we piece together the puzzle that we call the Great American Road Trip!!
