Lynn, Bruce, Eleanor and I are off to see the mating of some 44,000 flamingos near Rio Lagartos on the Yucatan Peninsula. We will be staying in RL for about 3 days and will get the see the amazing pink creatures as well as do some birding, croc tagging and general mangrove exploring while we are there. Once we have worn out our welcome there, we will head back to Puerto Morelos for some R&R, shrimp tacos and some sun, sand and surf. It has been 2 winters since I have spent any time wandering the streets of my favorite Mexican town, so am looking forward to re-connecting with old friends above and below the waves. I have my dive gear and cameras packed! Is it Feb. yet?!
