Kilts to the Hilt and Beyond
About this blog
Anne and Diann will be driving on the wrong side of the road, seeing castles and kilts, and drinking wee drams. Our four-week trip to Scotland will take us from Edinburgh to the fishing villages of East Neuk, the university and golf town of St. Andrews, and the former mill town of Dundee. On to Pitlochry and Ballater, both famous as haunts of Queen Victoria. We plan to see Balmoral Castle, home to QE II, in Royal Deeside, and attend the Drumtochy Highland Games. We'll cruise the Castle Trail in Aberdeenshire and drive through the Cairngorn Mountains to Inverness. After a boat trip on Loch Ness (where we plan to spy on Nessie), we'll explore the massacre site of Glencoe. Then, it's off to the Isles of Skye and Mull. The end of our trip will include Loch Lomond and the Rob Roy Country, the Border Abbeys, Ayrshire and Rabbie Burns country, and finally, Glasgow---home of Diann's 5th great-grandfather!
