The most solemn of my travels is when our family went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. From Dubai we had a stopover in Amman, Jordan. We were part of a group so it took several hours before all the passports were processed. Then, we were finally on a bus to cross the Allenby bridge - the border between Jordan and Israel.
