Backpacking through Central Europe & Turkey
About this blog
From the bustling streets of Berlin, to the historic alleys of Istanbul, this trip surpassed all of my previous trips combined in terms of planning, effort & level of adventure. Highlights were the constant reminders of the Nazis and Soviet occupations virtually everywhere in Central Europe, the thermal baths of Budapest, Istanbul's enormous Hagia Sophia, Turkey's archaeological sites, the generous and hospitable people of Turkey, and it's extensive public bus network, which took me everywhere I wanted to go in the country. Experience I'll never ever forget: riding the public bus across Mesopotamia and being the only non-Kurdish passenger then!
