The romanians are a mixture of Romans and Dacians, two ancient civilisations which mixed starting with 106 BC and finished by 276 with the retreat of the Roman troops from Moesia - their Dacian province, during Emperor's Aurelian reign.

That's why Romania is a Latin country, altough is obvious that many words and habits are from the Slavic neighbouring countries in the next 1700 of years
