A White Christmas in Chicago
About this blog
This will be our first ever white Christmas for us (assuming the weather plays its part). Typically Chicago gets around 8 to 10 inches of snow during the time we plan to be there.
Sarah and Max have turned their thoughts to all matters Christmas now that Thanksgiving is behind them. Menu planning is underway and ingredients for cocktails are being stockpiled.
We have taken advantage of recent sales to supplement our wardrobes with heavy duty winter clothing, and feel that anything we don't have by now can be purchased on arrival.
Flights are booked with upgrades requested for the Melbourne to LA leg of the journey. We are unlikely to hear any news of our upgrade request until just prior to departure.
We are anticipating an interesting and very different Christmas experience. For example, instead of attending the Boxing Day cricket at the MCG in shorts and a tee-shirt, we will be rugging up to attend an ice hockey match between Chicago and LA. We also expect to be surprised, amazed and entertained by the whole experience as we have on previous visits to the USA.
