Red Roof Inn Jessup Maryland Horrible Service Locked out of hotel room for 2.5 hours

About this blog

Avoid this hotel at all costs. The electronic lock malfuntioned and the staff was unable and unequipped to repair it. I had stepped out to get a cup of coffee in the lobby and my purse, medication and car keys were locked in the room for 2 and one half hours while the staff fumbled around. The front desk clerk tried to get us out of the way by putting us in another unoccupied room while we waited. After realizing she simply did not want us in the lobby to put pressure on her, we returned to the lobby. The front desk clerk called the manager a number of times and he did not solve the problem. It seemed to be his morning off. I insisted on getting on the phone with him and telling him how irritated I was that the door was still locked and I felt that he should come in and solve the problem. Twenty five minutes or so later, he showed up and unlocked the door in less than 10 minutes. There was no reason the problem could not have been solved earlier, if he would have just gotten off his duff and come to the hotel. This was so disappointint because I was visiting my daughter who is in the Navy (at Ft. George Mead) and only had 2 days to spend with her;so, every minute was precious. I would not reccomend this hotel because the manager delivers atrocious customer service. He had a bad attitude and did not even give me a decent apology. I also called the Red Roof INN corporate office who promised to get back to me in 2 days and failed to do so. A BIG THUMBS DOWN. WISH I WOULD HAVE STAYED SOMEWHERE ELSE!
