Water for Life - An emotional journey with WaterAid looking at their work in 3 states of India.
About this blog
Hi, thanks for taking the time to read this blog, which is a diary of the two weeks i spent with WaterAid on the 2007 supporters visit to India. In the developed world we take clean water and access to sanitation for granted, in India a vast number of people are without sanitation and access to safe water is variable. Only 15 percent of the rural population have access to a toilet and 90 out of every 1000 children die before their 5th birthday due to preventable disease such as diarrhoea. This is my journey to see what WaterAid are doing to help improve the situation. Hope you enjoy reading, Claire x
PS I am swimming WastWater (5km) to raise money for WaterAid, please check out the website www.justgiving.com/wastwater_thebigswim
