Carol's trip to Quebec Province August 2010

I love to travel. Luckily, I have three sisters who usually go with me on some of my trips. One sister and I bought a time share a few years back. This is when you say, "Oh, no!" However, we do use it several times a year. Not only do we trade in our unit and go somewhere else, we also use a thing called Last Call. This opens our opportunity to go to other places.

One of the places we went to this year was Quebec City. I went there thirty years ago. Can you believe that? It is a beautiful city, exciting, a happening place, and reminds me of some European cities. I wish I had done more traveling when I was young. I'm trying to make up for it now.

This trip was one of variety. Two sisters and I stayed at a resort in Beaupre, a town outside Quebec City. We spent two days in Quebec City sightseeing. I wish it could have been more. We also went to Parc national des Grand-Jardins, Ile d'Orleans (an island in the St. Lawrence River near Quebec City), and a boat ride in Saguenay Fjord and Parc national du Saguenay. We also learned a few words of French. If someone tells you that 60% of the people in Quebec are bilingual, do not believe it. Or I found the 40% all the time who only spoke French. We learned how to ride the bus to get us into Quebec City without using our own car and having to park it. We also tried some foods unique to Quebec Province - meat pie, tarte au sucre, and poutine.
