My Honeymoon in Europe
About this blog
We just met, and already I'm lying to you. The truth is, that in terms of this blog, there is no "us". It's just me, Sam. The blog is about my wife and myself (and now our new baby boy Baby Sam)and our passion for travel. There I go again, my wife really isn't as passionate as I am about travel either. Together we've been to Spain, France, Puerto Rico, Mt. Vernon Virgina, Miami and Orlando Florida, and some more uneventful places like Toronto Canada, Watkin's Glenn New York, and Ottowah Canada. All of our US destinations have been by car (except our frequent rips to Puerto Rico) so we get a lot of road time too. It'll be a year on Sunday March 7th that my lovely wife Sandra and I got married. For our honeymoon we chose to go to Europe. it was the first time for both of us, neither of us had ever truly left the US (Canada doesn't count) and we were both excited and scared, even though she was 29 and I was 28. It was in our vacation, a short (too short) week in Spain with a long layover in Paris (My next blog entery will be the first part of my 19 part retelling of my exciting, scarey, but mostly fun and funny trip with my wife)that woke up the Anthony Bourdain in me. So that is the inspiration for the title of this blog. Our honeymoon was the first time my wife and I had ever traveled anywhere on our own, if you don't count the overnight trip to Watkin's Glenn NY we took for a wedding before we married. I fell in love with Spain, and I fell in love with my wife all over again. I want that feeling again, that's why, wherever we go, we will travel like it's our honeymoon all over again. Our next trip will be Rome in November of 2010. After that, maybe Athens, and after that, perhaps Barcelona, or London, Egypt, those are our top picks right now, not necessarily in that order except for Rome.
In the mean time I'll keep you abreast of my trip to Montreal in April, my trip to Puerto Rico (with my mom and dad) this month and any other significant travels I might have in the mean time.
So why do you care? I don't know, but it's a blog. I hope you'll get ideas about travel to these cities, where to eat, where to stay, which neighborhoods to watch out for, scams to avoid, and good deals. What's worth your time and what's just garbage that you should skip. Please let me know what you think I should add.
