The 'Adventure' Tour
About this blog
On first discussion of a little trip to Tasmania and Uluru with my girlfriend, she suggested we do an adventure tour to which I replied with a very stern 'No'. Don't get me wrong here, I do like my adventures, so long as they come with certain creature comforts to which this Princess is now accustomed. She was discussing the likes of bushwalking and camping...CAMPING! I mean really...NO! She's ten years younger than me and an overseas guest so I can understand the excitement about it all, but I've paid my dues travelling as a youngster with a backpack, staying in hostels and eating on the cheap so feel I've earned the right to now take the matching Italian luggage set, stay in nice hotels and seek out some of the nicer local eateries instead of the pub. However, we've compromised as friends do and are taking an adventure 'bus' tour, staying in 'cheaper' hotels AND a hostel (sigh) for two nights at Uluru. I will once again be donning the backpack but will have a nice big bus driver to lug it around for me this time. Nice!
