World 2010
About this blog
So I'm graduating... again. Time to do what all the other recent college grads do: travel! Starting in May, I will take my backpack and passport and embark on what has got to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I've decided upon several goals to make this trip the best it can be. I'll be getting by with as few personal possessions as possible. I'll be living, eating, and traveling as cheaply as possible. I'll reach out to those I meet along the way instead of living in my own little tourist bubble. I'll communicate with the locals as best I can and maybe learn something from them. I won't be afraid to abandon plans and I won't be too upset when plans change on their own. I'll not forget to have fun. And most importantly, I'll update this blog regularly to remind me not to slack on these goals.
On my map you'll see the places I'm planning to explore. I want to make it a true round-the-world trip as I explore Russia, Eastern Europe, Turkey, Lebanon, Australia, and a few other places. However, these destinations will evolve; it seems like every day I think of a new change to my route or a new activity to squeeze in.
I welcome your input! Leave some love. :)
3/29/10 - Hmmm... I don't see a way for me to post general trip updates without also tying them down to a certain city. I may just put Austin for now that way you guys can comment on them.
