I have always dreamt of New Zealand. After all you can't go anywhere further from Germany on this planet, maybe that was the appeal. I think in a way meeting the foreign exchange student Mikaila from New Zealand also started forming that dream in 1996. So when I got a contract offered, I made sure it started late to give me two months off, but even better so I got a contract starting immediately, giving me 2 months of unpaid vacation.
