This trip is my life long dream. My kids are grown enough to look after themselves, the dog, cat and house. I have long service leave and someone to travel with. As an artist, art teacher and a lover of history this journey is pretty much a dot to dot of galleries, historical and romantic places I most want to see across Europe. By romantic I mean places that conjure up some feelings of nostalgia, from novels or films- prompting me to search for "a room with a view" in Venice, places where my favourite artists lived or places that have my favourite art works, places that inspired artists and writers or have historical significance especially in relation to historical figures I have read biographical novels about.
