After a year of staying put, we got itchy feet and started to look for a travel destination again. Except this time, the trip is very short at 3 weeks because I have to work to pay for all this running about. We agreed on Turkey for its historic wealth as the crossroad between east and west and since we're in the area, figured we could do a short hop into another country. The Atlas demonstrated that Bulgaria was logistically the best choice so off we go again, spending one week in Bulgaria and two weeks in the land of the Ottoman Empire, where the men are feverishly good-looking and the desserts are devilishly sweet.
