Gotham City Escapades!
About this blog
On the phone with Joanna one night, we were discussing the rigors of work at University of Phoenix coupled with our extensive homework, and how it had taken a toll on us.
"When was the last time you even had a vacation?" I asked Joanna.
"Since before Gavin (her 1-year-old son) was born". She responded. And right away, I knew it had to happen. There was no legitimate excuse not to. My friends Leslie and Liam, a couple living in Brooklyn, had been making steadfast attempts to bring me back out to New York, after having spent a couple nights with them in December of 2009.
"Let's go to New York." I threw the idea on the table, honestly not thinking that she would say yes, but what did I have to lose?
"Let's do it." She actually agreed. You see, I am known for my crazy spontaneity in taking vacations, and I have learned not to expect others to be as readily available as I am, and up for a fun idea with not much planning. But no; not Joanna. This was a wonderful surprise for me. Finally, someone who didn't turn to excuses before just saying "yes."
Fifteen minutes later, the trip was booked.
