In Search of Tarzan - A Journey Through Southern and Eastern Africa
About this blog
Because I always had a fear of of the diseases and crime of Africa, I never really seriously considered going there. Then one evening a couple of months ago, I got into a conversation with a Dutch guy in the swimming pool in my building. Somehow our conversation turned to travel and somehow we got on the subject of Africa. And believe it or not, he told me that he had a home in Kenya - along with 3 children (by 3 different women, no less - but that's another story). Anyway, he managed to convince me that Africa was "doable", so I started looking into it. And the more I learned about it, the more I became convinced that the dangers, while real, were manageable - and the less afraid I became. The result: This two-month trip around Africa.
