The Great 2011 Thai Flood Escape

About this blog

Most of my trips are based on the intention of going somewhere. Lately though, they've been inspired by the desire to get away from somewhere - namely Bangkok. Last March/April/May I fled the near civil war in Thailand (about which I didn't blog). This year, it's the Great Flood that I'm fleeing.

My initial destination is Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand - a place I have visited many times over the years. From there I'll decide where I want to go next. There are a lot of little towns in the vicinity that I've always wanted to visit. But I also have a lazy streak that might keep me in Chiang Mai should I find myself too comfortable to move.
